I was just wandering how members of the sangat maintain their kakkars'. For example the kirpan, how would one go about doing of seva of it to keep it clean and what cleaning tools if any should be used ? same applies for the kara? how often would you suggest to do it?

Also my kesh it has always been pretty fine, and on daily combing i do lose more hair than i should, i guess i need to make my hair a bit stronger any suggestions? also with dead hair how do you dispose of it respectfully some suggestions on that would be helpful as well..Thank you ji

Khalsa jio,

Here is our take

KESKI: Change it as often as possible. Have set of three or Four.
KESH: Wash every day. Shampoo/oil those once or twice a week. Comb twice a day just before moring and evening nitnem.
KIRPAN: Inside blade wash it every day with soap. Although the blade (actual kirpan) becomes loose after few years then replace with another one or tighten the miyaan if possible.
KASHEHRA: As usal wash it every day.
KARA: That washes automatically while taking shower or washing hand during the day.
Hope that helps.

Khalsa jio,

Just to add for the hair which came off while kanging (combing), keep them in a bag and once that filled out then do agan bhet.

Learner jio,

That is agan bhet (ਅਗਨ ਭੇਂਟ ) means fire up. If you live abroad follow fire code of that country.
