Goroo Piarye Sangat Jeo !!!

Please provide any information you may have on the development of
Punjabi kayda - Oora ayera - Punjabi Sikho (Punjabi Primer) from which
we learn Punjabi now a days.

So far it seems to this one that all the developments of Punjabi
Primer could be traced back to a PREFACE of Dictionary of Punjabi
Language published by Punjabi University in 1961 - which is a photstat
print of First Edition printed in July 1854 at the Ludhiana Mission
Press and published by Revd. L. Jarvier. This Preface documents the
alphabets and other associated guidelines to the likely development of
a Punjabi primer.

1) Would it be appropriate to take the origin of Punjabi primer by
which Punjabi is taught these days, to this date of July 1854 with
thanks to the great efforts of Christian Missionaries of that time

or
some earlier versions/samples of Punjabi Primers are available?

2) Any information on any documentations of Punjabi/ Gumukhi Script
Origin which dates back from this cut off of 1850 would be greatly
appreciated.

Loving prayers
