I asked this on the Sikh Sangat forum and wondered maybe some of the premi's on this forum may have the answer. For a Kakkari Kirpaan the requirement is that it be made of Sarbloh. Does anyone know the technical term in English for this metal and what are its composites (if any)?

What would be an acceptable metal for a Kirpaan for use of doing bhog to degh/langar and for rakhya because the stipulation is that it be Sarbloh (but what is that to a Gora?)

Scientifically, SRI sarbloh JEEEEE is an iron ore like haematite that contains elements like iron and CARBON(NAAM KALLA).

Spiritually, just as a saint has been provided with wheat,water,sugar,cow(to make panchamrit) around us by Satguru jee, same way we have SRI sarbloh JEEEE around us for the SAINT SOLDIERS.

High spirit ji Sarbloh isnt Heametite (he2O3) neither mangintite (fe3O4).

Sarbloh is Cast Iron. Consisting of pure Iron with (no carbon) But impurity content as gases (mainly oxygen).

Sarbloh is important or significant coz its symbol of "Pureness" as obtained from earth. Iron is symbol of "Power" "strongness" thus its important in sikhism also.

The communities that conquered the world has always treated iron as "sacred and important" . Guruji was also a Great Warrior and thus he also praised "Sarbloh". and also eating in cast iron utensil completes ur iron need of the body.

so we should cook in cast iron?

Veer khalsa wanna be ji yes u can cook in utensils of cast iron. BUT cast iron is prohibited coz it is very prone to rust or corrosion. If u just wanna cook indian type meal with "ghee" in it , Thn cast iron is best.

u can cook any meal in cast iron it will be helpful.

BUT DONT KEEP COOKED FOOD IN CAST IRON FOR LONGER TIMINGS COZ RUST MAY CAUSE OXIDATION OF UR FOOD AND THUS FOOD_POISIONING.

The cast iron utensils etc I have see have a coating on them to prevent rust. I take it this is not in keeping with gurmat and one should use the ones which have not been treated?

Cast iron dishes/utensils are quite readily available in Western countries so if one cannot get their hands on batte etc then they could buy these instead.

WHY THE HELL WE DONT JUST EAT DEGH AND DRINK SOME WATER ???????????????/
