Eating Meat Can Cause Illness

I thought the Gur-Sangat would find reading this article of intrest. It is written by the world famous Doctor Jan de Vries who has treated much of the Royal families in Europe and the United Kigdom.

EATING MEAT CAN CAUSE ILLNESS

Since meat has become cheaper, its consumption has increased phenomenally. There are people who eat up to 80 kilograms or even more meat per year. The human organism does not have the ability to process such vast amounts of meat.
As soon as an animal has been killed its meat starts to decompose and, because of this, the bodies of meat-eaters constantly dispatch leucocytoses, part of the body's defensive system to fight the invading bacteria. Their stools usually smell foul. Many meat-eaters suffer often from constipation, as muscle meat lacks fibre.
With the aid of a capillary microscope one can see that the capillaries are often damaged as a consequence of eating meat. During an average lifetime, the net of these tiny blood vessels shrinks from initially 100,000 kilometres to about 50,000.
When meat is digested much acid develops, and this puts a great deal of strain on the liver and the kidneys. These acids are stored as crystals in the body tissues and later they enter the cells and cause gout, rheumatism, diabetes, obesity, kidney diseases and neuralgia (see 'Crystals' in Chapter 5).

Furthermore Dr Jan de Vries writes:
The right nutrition is as natural as possible. Food from plants is medicine for the body.
Vegetarian products have been, for the entire history of the human race, the main calorie donors. They are available at all times and can be prepared without much problem. Animals run away, plants don’t.

waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh.

here is an unrelated piece of thought...on this subject.

it is an accepted sakhi that one of the last great test of bhai lehna ji before he became guru was the hukm by guru nanak ji to eat a murda - corpse. as everybody recoiled in horror, bhai lehna ji humbly requested guru ji : from which side shall i start eating - the head or the feet....

i always wondered if this is a test of "horror" or what. if we watch axn fear factor we can see there are many more "disgusting" things to eat ( as a test) than a corpse which is cannibalism...or was this sakhi inserted to make sikhs stay away from meat !!! or as i heard another pro-meat "expert" telling me " this sakhi clearly shows that "meat eating" was practised in guur ji's time and BHAI LEHNA JI's ULTIMATE TEST of SIKHI ( that he had REALLY LEFT his HINDUISM BEHIND ) was whether he would eat meat....SINCE HINDUS were pure VEGETARIANS..... I notice that when a newly converted MUSLIM is really accepted he is made to EAT BEEF.....and when a muslim is made to leave his religion a TEST of EATING PORK is performed ( if a "muslim" refuses to eat beef...is proof that he is not really a fully muslim......and if a ex-muslim refuses to eat pork...it is proof that he is still "some islam" left in him..) SO was this eating corpse a test of bhai lehan ji's Committment to Sikhi ( and FINAL BREAK wiith his hind past ) or what ??

anyway Bhai lehna ji PASSED when he accepted HUKM to EAT the Corpse and was then made Guru Angad.

Dass jarnail Singh.

Thanks Dr Bhai Davinder Singh jeeo for sharing this article with us. Indeed, meat eating is bad not only for our spiritual well being but also for our health.
