The real meaning of this Shabad is internal i.e. mystical. This shabad is an allegory as opposed to a real story. The hidden meaning of this shabad is in pankiti:
naahee th ghar ko baap risaae ||1|| rehaao ||
The translation misses an important point. It does not translate "ghar ko baap". This is not about worldly father as the saakhi connected to this shabad says. Actually Bhagat jee is talking about "Ghar ko Baap" i.e. the owner of my body i.e. the aatma.
This shabad talks about a mystical offering to Vaheguru by Bhagat Naam Dev jee. Bhagat jee uses this allegory of offering milk to Thakur to prove his point.

Waheguru JI ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki fateh.
Thanks Veer Ji Kulbir Singh Ji for an excellent explanation....as per GURBANI.
Most of the SAKHIS are written by writers who make a very "superficial" reading of these shabads by the various Bhagats.....try to make a HINDU connection by hook or crook...and provide a shallow explanation.
Any tuk that seems out of place is totrally IGNORED as embarassing to their story. GURU JI wrote Gurbani whereby the RAHAO TUK is the CENTRAL THEME and it contains the MOST IMPORTANT idea of the Entire Shabad. I find the rahao tuk ignored by most sakhi writers.
GURU ARJUN SAHIB JEE HIMSELF proves that ALL the BHAGATS were worshippers of the DIVINE WAHEGURU....none was a worshipper of IDOLS or THAKURS...even Dhanna bhagat who is said to have worshipped a stone and realised waheguru out of it... IS SAID by GURU ARJUN to have REALISED WAHEGURU not through a STONE BUT through BHAGTEE....."after hearing about all those famous bhagats like ravidass etc Dhann also decided to start doing BHAGTEE...says Guru Ji.....YET all the SAKHI writers Totally IGNORE GURU Ji's DIVINE TESTIMONY and stick with their Pet sakhis...and keep on insisting dhanna got waheguru out of a stone idol.... What utter rubbish ??? IF Dhanna can get waheguru out of a stone then why would GURU Ji and the Bhagats CONDEMN idol worshipping. This would be SELF CONTRADICTORY and Gurbani would be wrong !! BUT GURBANI is crystal clear, Pristine Pure and NEVER WRONG one tiny bit.
Dass Jarnail Singh.
