anti sikh Parents

Do you guys have problems with your Parents, and how they treat you because you are into sikhi.
At the moment my Parents do not talk to me at all, as they don't like what I am doing, All I am trying to be sikh thats it.
They keep saying as a sikh you should have peace, I say I know it true but I am unable to change over night.
Its like every thing is down to me, I just keep stay in my room trying to do simran. My parents think that I am making a Bomb!!!
How should I deal with this ?

Many gursikhs face this problem when they come into Sikhi and most of the young gursikhs make a big mistake of taking a confrontational stance with their parents. They fail to understand where their parents stand and what their point of view is.
The problem is simple. The non-religious parents of a young person getting into Sikhi feel insecure and are not sure if the change their child is going through is good or bad. When they question their children’s motives, the children out of ignorance and thoughtlessness come on the defensive and this is where the problem begins.
What gursikh youth should do is firstly understand what the intentions of their parents are and then approach to diffuse their fears and insecurities with love and patience. If children start fighting with their parents, parents become more and more bitter and the situation just keeps getting bitter.
The best way is to stay calm, patient and increase love and respect for your parents. Parents should see a positive difference in their children after they come to Sikhi. If they see their children becoming rude and indifferent towards them, they are going to start hating Sikhi as they would think that Sikhi caused all the problems they have with their children. Stay firm in Sikhi but treat your parents really good. It is against Gurmat to fight with your parents and argue with them.

well why dont you interact with them more and show em love? sikhi is pyar veer, break the barriers down show them affection and they will love u
