2004 is Half Over and 10 Gursikhs (or more?) are Passed Away

KHalsa jee

Earlier this year Bhai Joginder Singh Talwara and Bhai Vir Singh (kathavachak from Taksal) passed away.

Then Bhai Parminder Singh, Bibi Rena Kaur & Bhai Charnjit Singh.

On July 4th Giani Gurbachan Singh Khalsa Bhinderanwale's son Ragi Bhagwan Singh passed away.

On July 6th on the way back from that funeral, the head granthi of Dam Dami Taksal, Baba Harbhajan Singh passed away as well as 3 more Singhs.

Do this many Singhs die every year and I just don't notice it ?

Or is there something strange happening that Guru jee has called back 10 particularly special people - practicing Gursikhs with a lot of kamaee and seva... in the first half of the year?

Granted we are at a loss of Sangat when GurSikhs leave us for Gurpuri, but what is so special about 2004 ?

From 1978 - 1993 thousands vanished, during Wadha-Ghalugharaa thousands of thousands vanished in just a couple of days, but it didn't mean that something was "imminent".

Somehow these deaths are being presented on some other sites' forums as an indication of "Khalsa Raj", but I fail to understand any connection here.

Gurmukhs come and go, they are sent here, when their job is finished, they are gone, that is our GREAT GURU JI's plan, nothing more nothing less.

Instead of waiting for what could happen, let's make the change ourselves in the PRESENT. Then we we will change the FUTURE.

"Gurmukh VARTMAAN vich Vartadda..."

yeah niranjan singh, it seems like you're right

but it's also just strange because all these singhs are going back home all because of "unnatural" causes, like car accidents and what not. I'm not saying Guru Ji's bhana is not natural, but I'm just saying, it's not like some big holocaust happened or something, where all these awesome Gursikhs were wiped out. It's just feels like there's a reason why this is all happening. But people like me are too stupid to realize anything so I guess we should just follow bhana and be prepared for anything.

May be, a generation of senior gursikhs, has to leave for heavenly abode with time. I think, statistically also, as we grow old, number of deaths of known ones around us, increases year by year. They are leaving one by one. We are losing-------

Parbhaatee Mahaala Pehla

Aavat Kinai Na Raakhi-aa Jaavat Ki-o Raakhi-aa Jaa-ay.

No one can hold anyone back from coming; how could anyone hold anyone back from going?

Jis Tay Ho-aa So-ee Par Jaanai JaaN Us Hee Maahi Samaa-ay. ||1||

He alone thoroughly understands this, from whom all beings come; all are merged and immersed in Him. ||1||

Toohai Hai Vaaho Tayree Rajaa-ay.

Vaaho! - You are Great, and Wondrous is Your Will.

Jo Kichh Karahi So-ee Par Ho-ibaa Avar Na Karnaa Jaa-ay. ||1|| Rahaa-o.

Whatever You do, surely comes to pass. Nothing else can happen. ||1||Pause||

Jaisay Harhat Kee Maalaa Tind Lagat Hai Ik Sakhnee Hor Fayr Bharee-at Hai.

The buckets on the chain of the Persian wheel rotate; one empties out to fill another.

Taiso Hee Eh Khayl Khasam Kaa Ji-o Us Kee Vadi-aa-ee. ||2||

This is just like the Play of our Lord and Master; such is His Glorious Greatness. ||2||

Many come and many go, it is all HIS bhana, all HIS hukam. We too will depart from this maya-filled world one day. Guru Sahib has the date set for us as well. But that does not mean our duty is over. Guru Sahib has sent us here for a purpose. We must learn to have perseverance and live our lives according to Gurmat, whether something tragic or not so tragic occurs.

Dhan Satgur :)

waheguru ji ke khalsa, waheguru ji ke fateh

Pyare jio, I believe it is wrong for Gursikhs to think in this way. This is because we not not be superstitous, or become "Bhemi" that this is a bad year. We should always be in Chardi kala, and learn to accept Bhana.

This is Akal`s will, as it was for Sahib Siri Guru Gobind Singh ji when his 4 Shabizade became shaheed, or like mentioned before in years like 1978, 1984, etc.

Yes, many great Gursikhs have passed away this year, and I am sure many others will also. Such is his bhana. We should just ensure that we are building our jeevans so that there seva can be replaced according to Guru jis will.

As the saying at the time of Mir Mannu stated, " As the sickle cuts us, the more we grow."

waheguru ji kekhalsa, waheguru ji ke fateh

people die n r born all the time. think about the year 2004 and any other year since the inception of mankind. I recall a lot of my relatives dieing in 1997. Last year 7 relatives died of cancer. that doesnt make any year a special date. itsjust time/

Waheguru Ji ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki fateh.

Any gharri we spend in contemplating the NAAM is GOOD and any gharri spent with MAYA is bad...other than that GURBANI is clear that no time is bad or good.

Gursikhs come and go. For all we know they may already be back among us !! ONLY Waheguru Ji KNows all.
