Dhan Dasmesh Pitaa, they lived a life where no one knew what problem they would have to face the next morning; whether it was a war with the hill rajas or something else. There was always some sort of worldly problem.
They witnessed the shaheedi of two of their sons on the battlefield. They were separated from their younger children, only to later on hear that they were bricked alive by the ruthless king.
They sacrificed everything they had including their whole family. They had to make a dera in the unforgiving jungles of Machivarha.
Why did they have to face so much suffering? Why are our lives so easy today? When people think that they have problems, all they need to do is look at the life that Badshah Darvesh lived.

Waheguru Ji ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki fateh.

Whenever the month of DECEMBER comes along....Dhan Dhan Dasmesh Pita Ji's sacrifices for us come flooding in....It was the Bitterly Cold cruel month of 1705 in which GURU JI SACRIFICED HIS ALL for US.....the month ( or just before) begins with the Shaheedee of His father Guru Teg Bahadur sahib Jee...then begins exit from His beloved ANANDPUR (a city built on Freehold Land bought and paid for by Guru teg bahadur sahib Jee) based on the patently false promises on the Koran and Gita for safe passage.... then the fateful crossing of the swollen Sirsa that saw so many beloved Sikhs drown or swept away. so much of Guru Ji's Vast amount of Literature written and recorded after such painstaking effort was lost to the waters of sirsa as well.......the Battle of Chamkaur...with tales of untold bravery shaheedee of baba Ajit Singh Ji Baba Jhujhar Singh Ji right before His eyes...and then the fateful days of leaving Chamkaur Uch da Pir machivara jungle and the news of the shaheedeaan of His younger two sons and Mata Gujri His beloved Mother.... What what didnt GURU JI do for His Beloved PANTH... Haal Mureedaan da ...GURU JI NEVER lost His Indomitable Chardikalla
we are a mighty ungrateful lot if we forget these sacrifices... even for a moment...

This is so true. After we read about Siri Guru Dashmesh jee's life, we feel ashamed at our comfortable lives. Siri Guru jee's sacrifice is unparalleled in the world. He sacrificed both his parents, all 4 of his children and even himself on Khalsa Panth. His fifth son - Khalsa Panth has been sacrificing ever since its advent.

Dhan Dashmesh Pita jee.
